A Jamaican restaurant in Brownsville is hard at work preparing for the West Indian American Day Parade.

Stumpy's Spot on Saratoga Avenue is open seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., but owner Dervan Brown says he's always working 24/7.

They serve up authentic Jamaican dishes like ox tail, jerk chicken, and spicy soups.

Stumpy's will be just one of hundreds of vendors taking part in the West Indian American Day Parade on Monday.

Joe Williams, a regular at Stumpy's, says you can expect to get home cooked meals at the parade, but also culture.

"You get to taste every individual culture's meals. They have the Jamaican, you might walk down to a vendor and have a Guyanese special dish, you might go down further and have a Trinidadian special dish, but this is my Jamaican special dish spot," he says.

The parade will begin in Crown Heights at 11 a.m.
