A Bronx man was arrested in connection with a robbery and attempted sexual assault of a woman earlier this week in Central Park.
Police say Forest Richardson grabbed a 28-year-old woman from behind, and threw her to the ground near East 107th Street and East Drive in Central Park around 9:30 p.m. Monday.
After he stole her cellphone, police say the 26-year-old Richardson attempted to sexually assault the woman. Police say he ran away, and the woman was transported to the hospital. She was not injured.
Investigators were able to track Richardson to his Bronx apartment on East 158th Street by pinpointing the location of the woman's stolen cellphone. He was arrested around 2 a.m. Thursday.
Richardson is charged with attempted rape, robbery, sex abuse, assault and criminal possession of stolen property. Police say he has 30 prior arrests and charges.
