The annual Bronx River Bike Tour was held on Saturday and its goal was to have riders embrace their territory and preserve it for future generations.
Organizers say they want cyclists to have a greater appreciation for spaces designated for riders after the city's spike in rider deaths so far this year.
The biker death toll in 2016 has already topped the mark for all of 2015.
The 46-mile tour took riders from Soundview Park to the Kensico Dam and back.
One of the goals of the ride was to advocate for a path all the way to Kensico Dam and back without any gaps on the trail.
