A Bronx street has been renamed to honor a police officer who passed away last year. Officer Anthony DiGiovanna was just shy of 18 years of service for the 48th precinct when he passed away last year. Today, his wife and daughter watched as East 186th Street in Belmont was renamed in his honor. More than 350 friends, family and colleagues attended a Mass and then walked to the site of the new sign. DiGiovanna was one of the Bronx first responders at Ground Zero.
