Early Thursday morning, officials say a car crashed into a building on Nostrand Avenue, and caused a sidewalk shed to come down.

At this hour, crews from the Department of Buildings are trying to determine the stability of the building located at 481 Nostrand Avenue. Police are searching for the driver of the gray Infiniti that apparently lost control, jumped the curb and crashed into the building. They say the suspect jumped out of the car and took off running after the crash.

No injuries were reported. 

According to the Department of Buildings officials, the collapsed shed blocked the front entrance to several commercial buildings.
