Caribe Little League kicks off season with parade
A parade helped kick off the Little League season for many young ball players in the Bronx Saturday.
The Caribe Little League began their season by parading from Tremont Park to Corey Field.
Children ages 5 to 18 can play in the New York Yankees-sponsored league. The league offers tee-ball for the younger players and baseball and softball for the older children.
The softball program, which is only in its second season, has proved to be a success among young girls in the community.
The Caribe Little League’s season lasts up until October.
The league says it is not too late to sign up for either the baseball or softball leagues.
