The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention are urging people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 before the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
The CDC suggests the vaccination to protect young children not eligible to get a dose yet. It also suggests taking advantage of outdoor activities and avoiding overcrowded places with poor ventilation.
If you're traveling this holiday, the CDC says that masks are required on public transportation and to follow international travel recommendations.
As of Sunday, Gov. Kathy Hochul says the state's positivity rate is 3.59%. Mayor Bill de Blasio also says more than 12.3 million doses of the vaccine has been given out across the city.
If you're looking to get vaccinated ahead of Thursday - it's recommended you do so
as soon as possible due to appointments filling up.
