The city has begun to remove trash from a blighted property in Williamsbridge after numerous calls for action from neighbors.
The eyesore at 720 East 216th St. was covered in trash and lined with notices from the city back in June.
However, neighbors say the city recently came to begin picking up the trash.
According to the Department of Buildings, the location has violations and complaints going back to 2013.
Neighbors say people continue to use the property to dump trash, sleep and use drugs.
It's also directly across the street from an elementary school and Richard Green Middle School.
Neighbors say they are hopeful the city will continue to clean up the blighted property.
