City Island residents and business owners are looking forward to the repaving of City Island Avenue after three years of waiting.
New York City's Department of Design and Construction has decided to repave the road after what some business owners say have been years of complaints. Owners say the shoddy streets have cost them potential customers, especially during the lucrative holiday and summer seasons.
According to some residents, the road has been so bad that it has damaged cars. Other residents say they don't even want to leave their homes to go out unless it's absolutely necessary.
Some owners think the completed roadwork will make the island more appealing in the coming summer months.
