A popular restaurant chain has been turned over to new management amid frustrations from neighbors.
Don Coqui located on City Island angered residents last year due to loud music that was played late into the night. Some residents said they couldn't sleep at 4 a.m. some days.
The menu, employees and venue hasn't changed, but the new owner says she is committed to being a good neighbor.
The new owner agreed to lower music outside the restaurant, now called Vistamar Restaurant and Lounge, after 10 p.m. at a Community Board 10 meeting last week.
The Bronx-owned family business says their goal is to bring a positive experience for their clients and the community.
