City officials say they are preparing for more potential flooding with more rainfall headed for the area overnight and tomorrow.

City officials say they are preparing for more potential flooding with more rainfall headed for the area overnight and tomorrow.
They notified city agencies to be ready for any weather event, as they are taking no chances after last weekend’s floods wreaked havoc in Brooklyn.
“Today’s focus is water,” said Deputy Mayor of Operations Meera Joshi. “And to fight water, we must handle more of it and more unpredictable times. Our sewer system cannot do it alone. Although we’ve added 125 miles, this administration has added 125 miles of sewer, like so many other cities we must become more absorbent.”
City officials also urge residents to give extra travel time and to stay away from areas that may cause potential flooding in poor drainage areas. They say to stay away from train stations that may flood as well.
