Police say an incident initially reported as a rape Monday night was actually consensual contact between two teens.
The special victims division is still investigating the case because both teens are considered minors, but it is no longer considered a sexual assault.
The incident involved a 13-year-old girl and a teenaged boy at Claremont Park around 10 p.m.
It was earlier reported that the girl was taken to the hospital, where she was treated and released.
Claremont Park is ranked second on a list of the highest crime rates among Bronx parks in 2015. As News 12 previously reported, crime rates are on the rise in city parks in general.
