Several Commonwealth Avenue residents say someone has been breaking into their mailboxes.
They say the thief has been caught on camera. Surveillance video shows a woman rummaging through one victim's mailbox and then walking away with a child by her side.
That victim, Daniel Rodriguez, says he was waiting for a package ordered on eBay.
"I got the alert saying the package was delivered," Rodriguez says. "And when I got home, I found my mailbox broken into."
He says he is among at least three victims whose packages were stolen right before Christmas. During the holiday season, many people also receive cards with money inside, which are a prime target for thieves.
Stealing mail is a felony that carries prison time and a fine of up to $250,000.
The United States Postal Service says it is investigating the thefts. Police would not confirm whether the woman shown in surveillance video was considered a suspect.
