Several neighborhoods in the city are still in the dark today following a power outage Saturday evening.
More than 3,000 Con-Edison customers in the Bronx, Brooklyn and across the city lost power.
The energy company says the outages are likely due to manhole fires, which can be caused by salt used for snow removal. They say the salt can turn into salt water, which could potentially spark wires and cause an explosion.
Con-Ed says it has extra crews that are dealing with the outages.
On Twitter, it said, "Our crews are ready to deal with manhole events and isolated service interruptions in the wake of this week's snowstorm."
