Concourse Village residents concerned about holes in asphalt
Some residents say curbside hazards in Concourse Village are a growing problem.
Resident Michelle Daniels showed one hole located against a curb across the street from the Bronx Supreme Courthouse on Walton Avenue and East 158th Street. She was easily able to put her foot into it.
She also pointed out another hole, just a few feet from the first one, although not quite as large.
Daniels says she notified 311 in July, August and September, but nothing has been done.
Driving passers-by tell News 12 that the cave-ins have been present for some time, slowing getting larger and deeper.
A Department of Transportation representative tells News 12 that the location will be scheduled for inspection, which will likely result in corrective action by the proper agency. According to the DOT's website, the responsibility falls under the Department of Environmental Protection.
