407ds agoCongressman Ritchie Torres is calling for added transparency as the investigation into the the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol continues.
The congressman announced a new bill today that would expose the requests of lawmakers seeking presidential pardons in the wake of the insurrection. If passed, the federal law would apply to any member of Congress who asked for pardon for themselves or others.
This comes after the Jan. 6 committee revealed through evidence that several lawmakers sought pardons from President Donald Trump for their roles in attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
