The completion of a multimillion-dollar project has finally made Randall's Island readily accessible for Bronx residents.
The New York Economic Development Corporation and local officials on Saturday cut the ribbon on a connector that bridges The Bronx and a beautiful green space.
Joggers and cyclists on Saturday made use of the connector -- a project that reportedly dates back over 20 years.
Members of the group South Bronx Unite said they hope to see even more opportunities for waterfront access in Port Morris. They called the connector a big step in the right direction.
