Construction is underway for the NYC Ferry landing in Clason Point.
Officials say that the new service would decrease the amount of time it takes Bronx residents to get to Manhattan.
"The last time we had a ferry was 1939. We are taking about 80 years since the people of the Bronx was connected through the waterways," said Alicia Glen, deputy mayor for housing and economic development.
The ferry from Clason Point will dock at East 90th and 34th Street. The last stop will be Pier 11 on Wall Street.
Haydee Rosario works on Wall Street and tells News 12 that the ferry will save her money. She says that she spends $20 a day just to park her car.
"Every time I go to Manhattan I park in Harlem pay the parking and then take the train I can just straight to my work," she said.
Once the services begins, Rosario will pay the price of a MetroCard to head to Wall Street.
The new NYC Ferry schedule is set to launch this summer.
