Three councilmen in the Bronx want their districts to implement technology that can track where a bullet was fired.

Shot Spotter uses high-tech sensors to pinpoint the exact location where shots were fired. This allows police to respond to shootings more quickly and with better accuracy.

With crime up in the 47th and 52nd precincts, Andy King, Ritchie Torres and Andrew Cohen are calling on the NYPD to try out the technology in their districts. The city reportedly signed off on a $1.5 million pilot program with Shot Spotter last month.
