A car crash in Midwood left people trapped on an MTA bus on Tuesday afternoon.
The crash involved a car and two MTA buses
It took place just after 1 p.m. and both MTA buses involved remained at the scene for hours after.
Residents in the area told News 12 that the car crash sounded like an explosion. Video from a nearby bagel and pizza shop captured the crash on surveillance camera. The two MTA buses were going in opposite directions when a car tried to squeeze between them, causing the crash.
At least four people were injured as a result of this crash.
According to the NYPD, they were trying to stop the car that ended up between those two buses when that car took off.
The MTA buses both have broken windshields, mirrors and destroyed bumpers. Witnesses in the area say that two bus drivers were taken to nearby hospitals, but the NYPD has not confirmed that at this time.
The two people operating the car are now in custody of the NYPD and the investigation is ongoing.
