East Hampton is known for its oceanfront mansions, upscale shops and as a summer refuge for celebrities and the wealthy. But this quiet Long Island village was stunned by a brutal murder inside a multi-million dollar home in 2001.

Investigators said Suffolk County police found Ted Ammon bludgeoned to death in his bedroom. His business associate and chauffeur discovered the body. Police noted the home's alarm system was not activated.

The case is featured in this week's edition of Crime Files. Investigative reporter Tara Rosenblum brings viewers inside the story of privilege, secrecy and violence in one of the nation's most exclusive enclaves.

Tune in Friday night at 9:30 p.m. to watch the full episode only on News 12.
