DA: 3 teens indicted for killing bystander, wounding 4 in subway shooting

DA: 3 teens indicted for killing bystander, wounding 4 in subway shooting
Three teens between the ages of 14 and 16 have been indicted on multiple charges for allegedly engaging in a shooting at the Mount Eden Avenue subway station that killed a man and injured four other people.
According to the Bronx district attorney, the defendants, 16-year-old Langel Jones, a 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy have all been indicted on second-degree murder and variously charged with second-degree attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault and other charges.
The shooting took place just after 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 12. The district attorney’s office says that the defendants allegedly fired off at least 19 shots during a shootout that involved two gangs – the Davidson Avenue Boys Mac Ballers and the Burnside Money Getters.
The district attorney’s office added that all three defendants allegedly had their own firearm that was shot. This shooting killed 35-year-old Beltran Sanchez and injured of four others who were struck with gunfire in the face, arm, foot and hand.
Jones is set to appear again in court on June 11. The 15-year-old will appear in court on June 6 and the 14-year-old will appear on July 30.
