Friday marks the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, and Da Spot NYC hosted a market for Black creatives and culture in Brooklyn to commemorate the historic time in music.
All weekend long, City Point will be transformed into a hip-hop experience, with dozens of Black-owned businesses showcasing everything from eye-catching fashion and custom sneakers to natural health and beauty products.
The celebration aims to celebrate and put a spotlight on local creativity and the impact of hip-hop in today’s culture.
The weekend will conclude with an invite-only black tie sneaker ball, where Ice T will present Mayor Eric Adams with an award for his commitment to hip-hop.
