A dance team from the Bronx is stomping out the competition and taking a stand against bullying.
The "Live Dance, Love Dance" team from P.S. 19 in Woodlawn is taking to the stage once again to compete in the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development's “Step It Up” showcase.
The showcase uses the performing arts as a way to build leadership. The competing teams plan community service projects and speak up about issues in their community.
The Woodlawn team says it hands out anti-bullying posters and pamphlets at their performances and in their practice space.
Nearly 100 teams and more than 1,000 dancers entered the showcase, and Live Dance, Love Dance is one of 10 teams that have made it to the finals.
The team was featured on News 12 last year and made it to the third round of competition. They are hoping for a better outcome.
The competition is being held Saturday at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn at 7 p.m.
