There are a lot of strong opinions about children between the ages of 5 and 11 receiving the coronavirus vaccine, but advocates for the vaccine, like President Joe Biden say this is a giant step to accelerate our path out of the pandemic.
“For parents all over this country, this is a day of relief and celebration. After almost 18 months of anxious worrying every time that children -- your child had a sniffle or started to cough, well, you can now protect them from this horrible virus,” said Biden.
However, some parents say they disagree with the decision.
“I want to make sure we're doing the right thing, and that they are using it in the right way, I don't want a fast solution to a problem that can create more problems,” a parent tells News 12.
Pediatrician Dr. Daniel Cohen says vaccines for kids will prevent serious consequences and will protect children and the community from the virus.
