Mayor Bill de Blasio announced new vaccination opportunities available for New Yorkers today.
Starting this weekend, de Blasio says mobile vaccine buses will be at some of the city’s biggest beaches.
Coney Island and Brighton Beach in Brooklyn, Orchard Beach in the Bronx and the Rockaways will offer vaccinations.
Vaccinations will also be coming to Brooklyn Bridge Park, Prospect Park, Central Park, Governor’s Island and other spots.
“You’re going to be able to go there and get your shot and then hit your beach,” the mayor says. “And that’s what we want for everyone, we want everyone to be safe, so this is an example of bringing the vaccine to the people and making it easier.”
De Blasio also announced a new vaccination site outside of Madison Square Garden that opened Tuesday.
Anyone who gets their vaccine at the site will be entered in a raffle to win tickets to Wednesday’s Knicks’ playoff game.
The Knicks City Dancers and former NBA players John Starks and Walt Frazier will also be out there for meet and greets.
