5h agoThe Drug Enforcement Agency says it more fentanyl in 2023 than in any other year since it was founded over 50 years ago.
According to the agency, 386 million deadly doses of fentanyl were seized during the past year – which they say is enough to kill every American. The DEA says around 10% of that – around 37 million doses – were found in New York.
This comes as multiple notable fentanyl busts happened in New York City in 2023, including at a day care in Kingsbridge, where fentanyl exposure took the life of 1-year-old Nicholas Dominici.
The DEA says the recent drug busts in the city are part of their new response to target all aspects of fentanyl trade locally and across the United States.
