Pablo Villavicencio, a pizza delivery man, went to drop off a pie at the Fort Hamilton Army base in Brooklyn and never came home.

That's because immigration agents have arrested the Ecuadorian native, who came to the United States more than a decade ago. 

He had delivered pizzas to the base many times. But this time, when he showed the guards his city-issued identification card, they alerted immigration officials.

His wife says she received a call from Villavicencio, who is in custody in New Jersey and says he's being threatened with deportation as early as next week.

"Is our city, our state, our nation any safer now that a pizza delivery man is off the street?" asks City Councilman Justin Brannan. "It's ridiculous."

Immigration officials say that in March 2010, he was granted voluntary departure by an immigration judge. Then he never left, and remained in the U.S. well beyond his July 2010 deadline.

In addition to his wife of five years, he has two young daughters here, who are all United States citizens.
