Two causes came together for a joint protest and party Friday.
It is the fourth week of Black Lives Matter protests in New York City, and it happens to fall on the same weekend as the planned Pride march that had to be canceled because of COVID-19.
Demonstrators took a bike ride in support of equal rights. It started in Bushwick at Maria Hernandez Park and ended at Williamsburg’s McCarren Park.
The event was thrown by Bushwig, and other members of the community raised money for GLITS, which stands for gays and lesbians living in a transgender society.
If you didn’t have a bike, your feet were just fine - as it was also a dance party from beginning to end.
Bushwig is hosting online events throughout the weekend.
