Dozens of activists rallied outside Sen. Chuck Schumer’s Brooklyn apartment on Wednesday to demand that he take action to provide a pathway to citizenship for immigrants.
They are asking that he do more to help millions of undocumented people become American citizens.
The rally was organized by the New York Immigration Coalition and Make the Road New York.
There was also a candlelight vigil at the rally. Organizers say they’re disappointed that Democrats have been promising immigration reform for a long time and have yet to deliver.
On Thursday, people across the state are planning a day of action. They are also planning to protest outside the senator’s office in Midtown Manhattan on Friday.
