The Loop Parkway was closed temporarily due to an equipment malfunction with a drawbridge, according to the Town of Hempstead.

The town said in a tweet that New York state engineers “are working on a fix and will continue to share updates" involving the Long Creek Bridge. It had originally stated that a fix was hours away. 

However, the Town of Hempstead tweeted that the drawbridge was reopened.

The exact nature of the malfunction was not immediately known.
