Some drivers in the Bronx who can't seem to avoid hitting a certain pedestrian island are now ramming the city for installing it in the first place.
Since the island at the intersection of White Plains Road and East Tremont Avenue was installed this month, there have already been several crashes, according to people who live and work in the area.
As a result, drivers say they've had difficulty judging the turn.
A cone has been placed at the intersection to alert drivers of the island.
The DOT said in a statement, "New markings and reflective bollards and signs will be installed in the coming weeks to make drivers aware of the turning path."
