Drivers were urged Wednesday night to avoid side streets and stick to main roads, as side streets were less-traveled on and more treacherous.

East Tremont Avenue in Throgs Neck was mostly clear of snow accumulation due to the increased amount of cars traveling on it instead of side streets.

Salt spreaders also made their way through Throgs Neck to help clear up roadways.
