A normally busy stretch of West Kingsbridge Road was quiet Tuesday after DSNY police ticketed unlicensed street vendors and confiscated bags of merchandise.

Crews were seen loading dozens of seized items into trucks, as vendors packed up what they could and left.

DSNY took over street-vendor enforcement in 2023, enforcing existing sidewalk cleanliness laws.

It told News 12 that the sweeps are a joint enforcement operation that includes several city agencies.

But for many vendors, the sweep is a major blow just two weeks before Christmas, wiping out income they rely on to support their families.

News 12 reached out to City Hall for comment and is waiting to hear back.
