The New York City Department of Sanitation is advising New Yorkers to check in on their neighbors as they prepare for Thursday’s snowstorm.
The DSNY says it has 2,000 plow vehicles ready in preparation for the snowstorm.
The department is advising drivers to stay off the road.
On Thursday, it is asking people to plan for extra time during their commute -- as well Friday morning.
Service delays are expected, according to the DSNY.
The de Blasio administration announced that alternate side parking regulations are suspended through Feb. 20 to facilitate snow operations.
They say payment at parking meters will remain in effect throughout the city.
Roadway dining will also be suspended on Thursday. Sidewalk dining will remain open at this time.
