Children hit Van Cortlandt Park Sunday to fill their baskets with candy and toys during an Easter egg hunt.
This year marked the first that the event was hosted by the Woodlawn Taxpayers Association. Director Peter Corcoran says events such as the egg hunt are ideal because there are a lot of children in neighborhood eager to participate.
The hunt was separated into two separate sections for children. One was for kids ages 1 through 3, the other for ages 4 through 10.
Parents who attended the hunt say that it is what helps keep the tight-knit community together.
Corcoran say that he hopes to make next year's egg hunt an even larger affair.
