Tenants at Ebbets Field Apartments in Crown Heights claim they have been left without electricity for days.
No electricity in the building means no air conditioning, no hot water and no way to keep food in the refrigerator. They tell News 12 it happened following an electrical fire and that they’ve been without power since around 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Tenants tell News 12 the building was constructed to keep heat inside during the winter months and that now the problem is the almost-100 degree weather outside.
Flyers with updates from management have been posted beside the elevators.
The most recent update says they were able to get some power back in some units Tuesday night but that “it was only temporary” and that they can’t guarantee that the power will be back on Wednesday.
Many crowded into the community center to charge their phones, keep their food fresh, and even to do their work from home.
News 12 tried to speak with management on site but was asked to leave.
