Elected officials are calling on the NYPD to boost security in the area a week after 14-year-old Angel Mendoza was fatally stabbed in Williamsbridge Oval Park.
Their letter to Commissioner Jessica Tisch urges more patrols, NYPD-monitored cameras and a dedicated precinct contact.
Officials say the park has seen a string of violent crimes in recent years.
They will hold a news conference later today.
