If you have summer vacation money set aside, you may want to save it for this summer's electricity bill.
The state's Public Service Commission says people could see an increase in their electric bills in the coming months as demand peaks.
The average residential rate is expected to be about 12% higher than last summer.
The spike is being blamed on a rise in natural gas prices.
