Entrance to building where midtown mass shooting took place closed off

Police remained outside the building during the daytime on Tuesday, as broken glass and what appeared to be bullet holes were visible at the front of the building, which is now barricaded off.

Less than 24 hours ago, a mass shooting occurred inside the building. Four people, including an NYPD police officer, were killed.

Some New Yorkers stopped by on Tuesday, took pictures and then continued walking down the block. Others seemed unfazed.

Police remained outside the building during the daytime on Tuesday, as broken glass and what appeared to be bullet holes were visible at the front of the building, which is now barricaded off.

There is a growing memorial along the side of the building.

It’s unclear when the building is expected to reopen.

A vigil will be held for the people who were killed at 8 p.m.
