A group of young Albanians in the Bronx is doing their part to keep their culture alive one dance at a time.
The dance ensemble formed last year in Morris Park.
"We felt that a group was missing that really preserved the Albanian culture authentically," says 24-year-old Geni Gjoka. "We felt our energy as young people would be the best to preserve the Albanian culture."
The members practice ancient folk dances from Albania twice a week and perform at some of the biggest Albanian events in the borough.
The Bronx boasts one of the largest Albanian communities in New York City.
