The Bronx Academy of Promise gave News 12 an exclusive look at its annual Holiday Hallway Decorating competition.

All students, pre-K through eighth grade, went all out with their given theme. English and math skills are showcased in each of the holiday displays. The teachers and staff say this is an event they look forward to each year. 

"When you work with children and you see their smiles, sometimes that's even more important than the education we're giving them," said Catherine Jackvony, the executive director at Bronx Academy of Promise. "We look at the whole child, so we're teaching to their heart."
