Climate change has been at the forefront of discussion for years, and one expert from the Wildlife Conservation Society says there’s still much that can be done to help.
Monica Medina is the head of the WCS, which runs the Bronx Zoo and several others across the city. She previously worked in several facets of the government with a consistent focus on the environment.
“Things like planting trees is so important, in a city like New York… cities all across the country are busy planting trees now because of the government we have more money to spend on natural adaptation,” said Medina.
Medina says that the current goal of environmental efforts across the globe is to save 30% of the planet by 2030.
