A Bronx resident says a busy road near Pelham Bay Park is becoming dangerous due to its faded dividing lines.
Barbara Vogt says the faded double-yellow line along the stretch of road leading up to and over the Pelham Bridge have been a concern of hers for a while. She says she has contacted the city Department of Transportation several times, but nothing has been done.
DOT representatives told her that a refresh would happen in spring, but it never did.
"I just hope the DOT takes the time and gets this done before we go into the fall and winter months," Vogt says.
The DOT tells News 12 in a statement: "DOT has markings work scheduled at this location in the next few weeks, and will continue to monitor and make any necessary repairs."
The statement also points out that portions of the drawbridge are composed of steel grating, while others are made of concrete -- a material on which markings fade more quickly.
