After back-to-back 80-degree days, it gets much colder for the weekend. But is there any rain? Parts of the borough reached 80 degrees for the second day in a row, which is almost unheard of for this time of year. The calendar will match the weather starting tonight as this morning's cold front will usher in much colder weather. Saturday morning's low of 48 will be more than 30 degrees colder than Friday afternoon's high. The wind will calm down into Saturday, down from the 30 to 40 mph gusts that contributed to an elevated fire risk. The fire threat will be much lower, but the very low humidity will still be around. This chill is short-lived as much warmer weather returns by next Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs could hit 80 degrees again on Wednesday, which would shatter the record of 75 set in 2022. Election Day also looks pleasant, with no rain expected until at least Thursday. Rain is desperately needed across the borough with a moderate drought only worsening into next week, and could become a severe drought within the next week or two. No major storms are on the horizon, tropics-dependent.
