A Bronx family says they have been living with a collapsed ceiling in their NYCHA bathroom for two weeks and they say housing authorities have done nothing to fix it.
The Alequin family, who lives in the Claremont Rehab Two housing complex on Teller Avenue, says that they are scared to shower every day.
Resident Salena Quinones says the shower's ceiling collapsed right on top of her. Family members say they think the collapse was the result of mold buildup.
Salena's mother, Jacqueline, says she calls NYCHA daily and has even reached out to the city, but nothing has been done.
News 12 reached out to NYCHA on Tuesday and less than an hour later, crews put Sheetrock as a temporary fix.
In a statement, NYCHA said a carpenter will complete the repairs on Wednesday.
