The granddaughters of legendary R&B singer Sam Cooke, along with the daughters of the Womack & Womack duo and nieces of Bobby Womack, made their musical debut in New York City on Thursday.
The ‘Womack Sisters' are in town and are set to release their new EP ‘Legacy’ on Friday.
"Knowing how much music has affected us and kept a strong, like I lost my husband to gun violence in 2020, she lost her fiancé to gun violence,” said musician Zeimani Womack. “The things that I've experience in life alone is what makes me want to do music. It's my only source of relief because other than that I wouldn't be here. I'd be another person jumping off a building. Music makes me want to continue to love myself."
