A Bronx woman who was hospitalized after an apartment fire died from her injuries Monday morning.
According to family members, Betty 'Juvy' Guerrero, 46, died around 7 a.m. Monday at the hospital.
Guerrero was one of two people who were
rushed to the hospital Sunday morning after being pulled from a fire inside 986 Morris Ave. The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, but her family believes foul play could be involved.
"There was blood found in the apartment, and this blood was found far away from where the fire occurred," said Randy Guerrero, the victim's nephew.
Guerrero's family said she lived in a fifth-floor apartment with her boyfriend.
"It looks like he was trying to cover up something he may have done, and now he is nowhere to be found," said Randy Guerrero.
Guerrero's family says they want the police to get involved.
"She died terribly, terribly burned, it was horrible, we want answers, and we want justice, we want to know where he is, where's the boyfriend, what's going on, what's the process," said Cindy Del Rosario, the victim's cousin.
