A mother of four showed News 12 on Friday the dents on her door she says are being caused by a new neighbor.
"I have never experienced this before," said the mother, Araceli.
Video shared with News 12 show parts of the door breaking as the neighbor bangs on the door.
In Spanish, Araceli's son in fear can be heard saying, "she's going to come in."
The mother of four lives on the third floor of a Morrisania building. She said the issues began in November, after a new tenant moved into the apartment under hers.
Days after the move, the neighbor showed up at Araceli's door.
"She was insulting me, knocking on my door, and I thought it would be the only time it would happen," she said.
Araceli said the issue has gone on for three months, sometimes happening every day during the week.
"We can’t even walk in our home. I can’t even clean because she starts to bang on the floor," she said.
Police told News 12 they filed a criminal mischief report on Jan. 7 for the damages on Araceli's door, and an investigation is still ongoing.
The recent banging on Araceli's door has led her to change how her kids play, by switching out their toys to softer ones and telling them to walk quietly around the apartment.
The concerned mother even has to come up with ideas to keep her children safe as soon as the banging begins.
"I hug them and tell them let’s paint, but we can’t make any noise," she said.
Araceli told News 12 she is looking to move out. Meanwhile, management has told her they are going to fix the issue by the end of the month.
