Fire officials say three firefighters were injured battling a fire that consumed three apartment buildings in Morrisania Saturday night.
They say the flames broke out around 11 p.m. on the roof of 1232 Intervale Ave. and quickly rose to three alarms.
The owner of one of the affected buildings says it was originally his mother's building, and it makes the damage that much more difficult to deal with since it's Mother's Day.
The FDNY says firefighters got the blaze under control close to 1 a.m. The three firefighters who were hurt had minor injuries.
The Red Cross provided shelter and emergency housing to nine families who were displaced.
